spacerSilver Creek Daylilies, in Hamilton, Michigan, is home to the McMahon family of seven; my husband Ed and our children Connor, Brogan, Sawyer, Teghan and Brecken. The kids share our love of the outdoors riding bikes and building forts while Mom tends to her flowers.

spacerThe main daylily bed holds approximately 350 parent plants used in my hybridizing program, and summers are full of anticipation and excitement waiting for some of the 11,000 seedlings to bloom. Each July brings new surprises and many smiles. Silver Creek has been growing daylilies and other perennials for ten years and I've been concentrating on hybridizing daylilies for the last six. Roses, foxgloves, daisies and peonies are among other favorites grown in our cottage style garden.

spacer I enjoy sharing my love of daylilies with others, and am an active member of the Grand Valley Daylily Society and recently joined the Kalamazoo Area Daylily Society as well. Caring for my family and growing daylilies well are my two passions. If you have any comments or questions please email me, Amanda (Mandy) McMahon, at lazysnail@macatawa.com AHS Region 2, Zone 5.
