spacerWelcome to Holdn' Heaven Daylily Garden, located at the home of Charmaine and Neal Rich in East Thetford, Vermont. The main display garden was designed and planted in 2003 to showcase an ever-growing daylily collection. Holdn' Heaven is a unique place. It combines Formal, Cottage and Garden Room styles with a touch of the unconventional and whimsical. A designated AHS Display Garden in August of 2004, the display beds contain over 500 registered cultivars in mixed plantings with shrubs and perennials. The daylily collection includes favorite older cultivars as well as many newer introductions representing the work of over 85 different hybridizers. Emphasis is placed on hardy, distinctive cultivars of all colors and classes to make for a unique and interesting collection.

spacerHybridizing started in 2001 with my interest in producing sculpted daylilies in colors other than yellow. A fascination with the few patterned eyes available at that time led to a pattern eye program as well. Other traits I look for are Cold Morning Opening, Early Morning Opening (CMO and EMO), Bud count, Branching and an easy care plant habit that looks good throughout the growing season. I have 3 registrations this year, DOC WEBSTER and PROMISE TO BEHAVE, both great garden plants and what I believe to be the first, Northern-bred, pink, sculpted daylily, PROOF POSITIVE. More photos and information can be seen on our Hold'n Heaven Daylilies webpage.
