spacerWelcome to our zone 5 garden. We are located in Broadwell, Illinois (central Illinois), in a small village of less than 200 people. We moved here from North Dakota in 1995. Our home is on two city lots and originally we only had one small vegetable garden. Slowly we started adding flowers and got rid of most of the vetetables. Every year we now only have room for one tomato and one pepper plant!

spacerIn 1998 when visiting my sister in North Dakota, she gave me 4 daylily plants and now my garden has over 400 different varieties. I have done some hybridizing on a very small scale for the past 6 years, and in September 2007 I introduced my first daylily, "AUNTIE PHYLLIS". In the Spring of 2008, I hope to introduce my second plant, a near white seedling that right now goes by the garden name of "DAKOTA SNOW", photo below.

spacerMy husband, Mike, is my garden designer and assistant weeder. During the winter months he likes to make bird houses while I'm out taking pictures of birds. We hope you will visit our webpage Hidden Hems Half Acre and if you have any comments or questions please feel free to email me, Lynn Lewis, at hiddenhems@verizon.net
