spacerWELCOME TO OUR GARDEN! You will hear that phrase when you enter our little section of paradise. Susie and I carved our Garden out of a wooded lot, purchased especially to build a Garden. Our first passion was flowers in general, later evolving to almost exclusively Daylilies in the open areas. We usually have in excess of 700 cultivars, many of the very latest intros. We also have a complete "Stout Silver Medal Winner" Bed. It is fun to look at the progression of the Daylily over the past 50 years in this Bed. We have added a Greenhouse and began our first efforts in Hybridizing, with special attention to complex eyes and edges. During the transfer of data from the old computer to the new computer, I lost many of the original photos of our seedlings.

spacerIn one portion of the property we have a large Shade Garden, filled with Ferns, Hellebores, Hostas, and other shade loving plants. This Garden is bordered by a Rock Fence that was first built in the 1790's, and then transported to our Garden and re-assembled a few years ago! Susie, the "kids" and I spend many Sundays in the Winter roaming over a friend's property looking for old logs and unusual rocks to add to our Garden.

spacerWe also have a large Koi Pond filled with exotic fish and Water Plants. They create beautiful blooms and movement in the Garden. The fish love to be hand fed and our visitors always get a kick out of their entertaining antics.

spacerAnother of our passions is Bird Watching. Our garden is a certified Backyard Wildlife Habitat. We have many Feeders and water stations for the Birds year around. We also have a large Purple Martin Colony, a nice reminder of my Dad, that we thoroughly enjoy from March through July or August, depending on the weather. I spend many hours in the Winter building my specially designed Birdhouses, and try to accommodate as many Club request as possible for them to use as an Auction item!

spacerIf you are in the Northern portion of paradise (Hazel Green, Alabama), stop by and visit with us. Susie and I, along with the "kids", Joe Cephus, Dixi Belle, and the new puppy Samuel Adams (Sammy) will treat ya so many ways you will havta like one of 'em!     Email Tony at susietee@mchsi.com  -  Susie at Priceless@mchsi.com
