spacerThis collection of daylilies is displayed on a 100+ acre farm in Womelsdorf, PA (north of Lancaster). Most cultivars are planted in mixed beds and borders, around buildings and along fences. Some are planted inside a fenced garden and on hill sides. Spiders and unusual forms are abundant but sufficient examples of all types of daylilies round out the collection. A large number of newer varieties mingle with 'oldies but goodies' in this assortment. More than 1,500 cultivars from a host of hybridizers, A. B. Stout to Elwood Paskill (a local club member), are represented.

spacerThe property (with a barn and several outbuildings) was purchased in 1991 as a future home site. It consists of equal parts woodland and pasture with sloping terrain. Remnants of Lock #31 of the Union Canal are on premise and a mile of the Tuplenhocken Creek borders one side. The following year a 1780's dove-tail log home was dismantled at another location and transported here to become a residence.

Lucky

spacerA member of AHS Region 3 and Delaware Valley Daylily Society, Tracy is a master gardener, hands on person and animal lover. Lucky, a spoiled, Greater Swiss Mountain dog, oversees the gardening and helps keep an eye on three American Paint horses, a small herd of Black Angus, chickens and ducks.

spacerSeeing daylilies on a local garden tour in 1995 perked interest in growing them and joining a society. In the next few years, a vision became a reality through dedication, hard work and a passion for gardening. The farm was on tour for the Region 3 meeting in 2007 and received favorable reviews.
