Documents such as census of 1666,1667 and census of 1681 as well as church records show that different persons bear the surname of DUPRE. Among them many established their families in New France :
DUPRÉ, Antoine (Claude & Catherine Biare) of St-Leu-et-St-Gilles, v et archev. Paris; died before October 29, 1682; came in September 1665, soldier of Company of LaFouille, regiment of Carignan.
He married July 13,1667 in Quebec (ct July 9 before Gilles Rageot, notary) Marie-Jeanne GUÉRIN of St-Maurice-des-Noues, ar. Fontenay-le-Comte, ev. La Rochelle, Poitou (Vendée); 38 ans en 1682; remarried with Louis Charrier.

2. Marie-Anne b in Lauzon and baptized in Quebec April 1671, married with François Thibault in 1687.
3. Abbe b21 and baptized July 23 in Quebec married in 1690 with Nicolas Légaré.
4. Antoine b12 in Lauzon baptized February 15, 1676 in Quebec.
5. François b28 in Lauzon and baptized in Quebec January 31,1679.
DUPRÉ dit Champagne, Antoine († Mathieu & † Catherine Petit) of Mont-Cavrel, ar. Montreuil-sur-Mer, évêché of St-Omer, Flandre (Pas-de-Calais); died 26 and buried November 27 1686 in Château-Richer at the age of 43.
He married July 25,1672 in Quebec Marguerite Moutrachy of St-Maurice, v. et év. Noyon, ar. Compiège, Picardie (Oise) daughter of († François & † Claude Breton)

2. Anne b 23 and baptized January 27, 1675 in Quebec.
3. Étienne b November 30 and baptized December 1, 1676, buried December 30, 1676 in Quebec.
DUPRÉ dit Rochefort, Antoine ( Jean & Claudine de la Haye) of Saint-Soflorin archevêché of Lyon; d 19 et buried September 20 1689 in Boucherville at the age of 50; 35 years old - census of 81 at the seigneurie du Tremblay à Boucherville; came in September 1665, as a soldier of the LaTour - regiment of Carignan.
He married April 28, 1681 in Boucherville (February 15 before Notary Bourdon) Elisabeth VALIQUET daughter of Jean & Renée Loppé. Remarried in 1690 with Jean Ménard.

2. François b à Tremblay and baptized in Boucherville October 9, 1683, d and buried June 20 1684 in Boucherville
3. Jean b April 30 in Tremblay and baptized in Boucherville le May 1 1685, married in 1710 with Claire Février.
4. Jacques b 23 in Tremblay and baptized in Boucherville December 24 1687. Died on the 27 and buried 28 in Boucherville.
5. Angélique b le 5 in Tremblay and baptized August 8, 1689 in Boucherville, married in 1711 with Michel Robin.

9. Amable-Angélique born 21 and baptized June 22 1750 in Contrecoeur, married Jean-Baptiste Laporte Labonté January 8 1770.
10. Louis-Marie married Agathe Royer in Saint-Antoine, February 5 1770
11. Marie-Anne b 4 and baptized May 5 1747 in Contrecoeur, married in Saint-Ours François Chapdeleine January 21 1771.
12. Marie-Charlotte baptized February 17 1749 in Contrecoeur, married Jean-Baptiste Terrien February 22 1773 in Saint-Ours.

Bordeaux, Guyenne (Gironde); d 19 buried May 20 1723 in Baie-Saint-Paul; 20 ans census of 66 et 67, in Cap-de-la-Madeleine, domestic of René Bernard; census of 81 in Beaupré; concession of seigneurie of Rivière-du-Gouffre December 30 1682, sells his concession September 20 1735 to Noël simard and Ignace Gagné.
He married April 30 1680 in Beaupré (January 1 before Rageot) Catherine CARON widow of Jacques Dodier. She died in Baie-Saint-Paul 14 and buried June 15 1725.

PICHÉ dit Dupré, Pierre (Pierre & Marie-Catherine Durand) born 11 and baptized July 19 1674 in Neuville.
He married Anne Sylvestre (Nicolas &t Barbe Neveu) in Neuville November 14 1697 (ct Chambalon October 22)
1. Marie-Angélique n and baptized August 30 1698 in Neuville.
2. François-Robert n 27 and baptized May 28 1700 in Rivière-Ouelle, married Angélique Laporte November 8 1723 in Saint-Sulpice; remarried with Françoise Blanchette in Saint-Ours January 7 1727.
This particular family lived in St. Ours area and many members used the surname Dupre. In our days, many Dupre have Pierre Picher as ancestor. He originated from Faye-la-Vineuse, France. See The Pierre Picher family history for more details. In the 1830’s, many of them migrated to the USA (MA,CT,RI, NY) and to western Canada where some of them got married with Indian women. Some Piche metis are from this ancestor.
