Women Who Run With the Wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estes
I have always learned best from stories interpreted in the Jung fasion. Actually, love to listen to this woman's audio tapes even more. Particularly "The Red Shoes."
The Road Less Traveled by Scott Peck
The kind of book that reinforced my basic belief system. Kind of nice to know that this man mellowed in later years, when he wrote the book I heard he was a bit arrogant. So I liked learning about the life of the writer, who seemed so together yet was just as screwed up as the next guy. Gives me hope that someday I will be ok.
If you meet the Buddha on the Road Kill Him by Sheldon Kopp
I read this book when I was just beginning my adult life. Many of the lessons became helpful in making decisions. Has lots of jumping off points referring you to other philosophers and books.

Hard Core Dreamer by Cherene Raphael
I had given up. Everybody wanted me to go to college and become a professional. I wanted to paint. Old story I'm told, but I'm a new girl with a new life. Hard Core Dreamer gave me permission to be me. Hard to find this book. I found it at Amazon.com.
